Blue Chipper”, PTP’er (Prime Time Player), can’t miss, these are old school phrases used to describe a player who is about to blow up.
Introducing Jamaal Potopsingh!!! This 15 year old is about to do just that. He plays the 2, 3, 4, and 5 WELL.
He is an excellent rebounder, he hits 3’s consistently and with ease. He can lead the fast break, can slash to the hoop. Posts up well and has excellent footwork. Defends well on the perimeter and in the post his 8 ft 3 inch standing reach makes him a nightmare in the post for opposing scorers. His weak side help is improving and his basketball I.Q. Is growing. He is the real deal.
Strengths:
The kid is a great player but maybe the best part of all is that he is coach able.
He is eager to learn and catches on quickly. He can flat out do it all and he is only 15 yrs old.
And with the help of Dr. Thomas Lam of Fits Toronto Jamaal is getting bigger, stronger and quicker everyday.
Weakness:
Jamaal has no real weaknesses at this point, his passing will improve as he gains more experience. Right now he plays on a high school team that is guard focused and therefore limits his growth. But in his OBA year he will have the chance to work on all levels of his game.
